What will Tam sacrifice to save his world and his wife? His Oath to her, his honour, and himself. A prisoner of the Zindons, Tam's path has never been so hard to see. The prophecy said that so long as he remains true to himself, he will have a chance to escape, but even he can't withstand the torture for much longer, and worse lies ahead.

Nightmares and reality are already hard to tell apart, and soon the Zindon leader, Xareht, will begin to convert him into one of them, attacking both his memories and his dreams with her magic.

He must break free, not only to save himself, but also to warn his king what he has learned while imprisoned: the invaders' secret weapon is poised to wipe out the Tyrean army.

To escape, all he must do is break his Oath to his Sorceress/wife, betray her, and then violate one of the strictest laws of magic, while somehow staying true to his honour, his wife, and his God.
