Laura Baker

Laura grew up in Canada with a passion for stories. She followed this passion to attain an Honours BA in English and then moved abroad to Wales for an MA in Creative Writing and an adventure - and she never left!

She now lives in a lovely coastal town in South Wales with her husband, son and big basset hound and has been writing and editing award-winning books for adults and children for the last ten years.

She loves finding special stories to tell in the everyday, relatable world of a child (or dog).

Jo Cotterill

Jo Cotterill has had several careers - actor, musician, teacher, newspaper seller - but is now a full-time writer in Oxfordshire. She loves writing for all ages and has published over twenty books.

A Library of Lemons is a book from the heart about making connections and what it really means to be human. Jo loves going into schools and talking about books and reading, and can be found making cards and writing music when she's not spending time with her husband and two young daughters.

Paula Harrison

Paula Harrison is the author of the much-loved The Rescue Princesses and The Secret Rescuers series. She wanted to be a writer from a young age but spent many happy years being a primary school teacher first. She finds inspiration in lots of things from cloud shapes to snippets of conversation.

She loves sandy beaches and eating popcorn. She lives with her husband and children in Buckinghamshire, which is nowhere near the sea. Whenever possible, she packs her family into the car and journeys far and wide to find a sandy beach where she can paddle in the waves.

Kate Scott

Kate Scott was born in London of American parents. She has lived in Hong Kong, Paris, Scotland and two tiny villages in France, but now lives in Dorset with her husband and two children. Kate's poems have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and her short fiction on Radio 4 Extra.

Her first published children's novel was Boy in Tights which developed into the three-book series, Spies in Disguise. Kate leads poetry workshops for children in conjunction with Tor Theatre and runs creative writing sessions with bookshops and schools across the UK.

Kay Woodward

Kay Woodward has written over 150 fiction and non-fiction children's books in three different countries and using three different names.

She writes books that are funny and books that aren't, but tell the reader all sorts of Very Interesting Things. She has been published by Puffin, Scholastic, Andersen Press, Carlton, Wayland and many other UK publishers.

Her specialist subjects are chocolate, survival skills, ice skating, history, science, bad jokes, Roald Dahl and lightning.
