If you want an action-packed, rollicking good adventure story, you won't be disappointed. But this is a ludicrous tale based on a flawed understanding of the science, with disrespectful revisions of the monstrous evil behind the 11 September 2001 attacks and of the Nazis' genocidal motivations as plot devices. All of the characters speak vernacular American, which is particularly jarring when attributed to Chinese and Indonesian characters speaking their own languages. (Both Chinese test volunteers and Indonesian prisoners find themselves sharing "coed" bathrooms!). All of the scientists talk in feet and miles. Plot contradictions abound, and many of the baddies are cardboard characters driven by a maniacal need for revenge. The hero and heroine manage miraculous excapes from death every few pages. And there's some gratuitous lesbian sex thrown in. Don't waste your money.
