This is a very interesting story, but a very small paperback, with a very high price. I paid over forty bucks for this book ... and that price was discounted. For $40 (the discounted price) I expected to receive a fairly substantial and well-illustrated book. But when A&R’s parcel arrived, I was shocked by the tiny paperback inside. Barely bigger than my hand, it contained less than 150 pages of main text (plus an index, a foreward, several brief annexes and a cluster of photos in the centre.) In truth, this book is really little more than a decent magazine article, padded out and added to, with repetitious detail and sundry ancilliary information. Even with the padding and adding, It still remains a very slim buy. It retails in the USA for $22, and should sell for much the same here when discounted. But the A&R price of approx $50 before discount frankly felt like a bit of a rip-off. I found this book interesting, but hardly compulsive. In fact, it took me several weeks to finish, simply because it wasn’t interesting enough to be a page-turner. If you want to read the details of this story, without being disappointed by the cost of this little paperback, just use google for free. You’ll satisfy your curiosity and save your money!
