IT WAS THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME: PROTECT HER

Before Owen Michaels disappears, he manages to smuggle a note to his new wife, Hannah: protect her. Hannah knows exactly who Owen needs her to protect - his teenage daughter, Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. And who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother.

As her desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, his boss is arrested for fraud and the police start questioning her, Hannah realises that her husband isn't who he said he was. And that Bailey might hold the key to discovering Owen's true identity, and why he disappeared. Together they set out to discover the truth. But as they start putting together the pieces of Owen's past, they soon realise that their lives will never be the same again...

A beautiful and thrilling mystery, perfect for readers of Lianne Moriarty and Celeste Ng.

THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME, 1 - What an interesting story with intriguing story lines, interesting characters, and a fast pace. I didn't put this paperback down until I finished the last page. Hannah is a very likeable character, along with her best friend, and I like the writing style of the author. No stupidity and not a thriller, just as well written, immersing story. Source: MARYSUE RUCCI BOOKS (Simon & Schuster, Inc.). Special thanks to Elina Vaysbeyn for the paperback. 4*

THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM, 2 - This story picks up where The Last Thing He Told Me left off. Not a thriller but the continuation of two families, their lives, their loves, their sacrifices, and the ending. Same review points as the first book. Source: Netgalley and Scribner. 4*

THE NIGHT WE LOST HIM - Not so much about a suspected murder but the discovery of family, love and loyalty. Well written, interesting story lines and characters made for a relaxing read without the usual drama. The conversational tone used throughout helped made this an immersing read. Source: Netgalley. 4*
