This the last book published finds Richard in the dark about a sister Jennsen, Jennsen spirited away like Richard as a baby because Darken Rahl would have killed them Jennsen is raised much like Richard by her mother in woods frequently moving.They finally find a place where they live in peace for several years until a mysterious stranger turns up. This changes there lives forever. Sebastian helps Jennsen after her mother is murdered by Dharan soldiers sent by Darken Rahl, Sebastian takes Jennsen on a journey where she meets Emperor Jagang and unwittingly becomes a pawn in the game of life believing Richard to be the same as Darken Rahl and evil. She takes Sebastiam at his word and trusts him implicitly even believing herself to be in love with him. Its not until nearer the end she realises that you can get things so vey very wrong.
