Jamie Reid made art without compromise, engaging with society with a burning desire to transform it. Best known for his Sex Pistols and agit-prop Situationist work, and widely copied by graphic, artists around the world today, he is one of the most influential and important British cultural figures of the last fifty years, yet much of his art remains relatively unknown. Time for Magic offers, for the first time, a survey of his extraordinary life's work and a sense of his legacy as an artist, visionary and activist. The art is curated by Stephen Ellcock and woven into the structure of the Pagan Wheel of the Year, which Jamie himself observed and painted. John Marchant, Jamie's long-time collaborator, offers anecdotes and commentary on the individual artworks. And Philip Carr-Gomm, the former Chief Druid of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, writes, about how following the Wheel of the Year can help us find a new way of being in this age of climate crisis. The message; of Time for Magic is that the re-enchantment of the world is possible. This book is both an antidote to nihilism and a call to action: a visual manifesto for a better world.
