The collection highlights the work of emerging photographers from Hong Kong and around the world. This carefully curated and bound collection offers a unique modern perspective of Hong Kong. Each chapter in Trope Hong Kong is accompanied by a map of the area along with the locations where the photographs were taken.

In many cases, there are several photographs of the same location, shot at different times of the day, in different seasons, with different tones.

The images here — digitally processed, filtered, toned, de-saturated, sharpened — showcase distinct styles and compelling points of view, with a very urban sensibility. Showcasing old world tradition alongside the modernism of contemporary Hong Kong, the images here reveal distinctive and dramatic visions of one of the world’s most multi-faceted cities.

After working in advertising and design for over two decades, Sam Landers returned to publishing by co-founding Trope Reader with Tom Maday in 2016. Previously, he was the CEO of Blast Radius, part of the WPP Wunderman Global Network, which he joined in 2008 when the branding and digital agency he founded, Designkitchen was acquired by WPP. During his time there, Sam worked in Chicago, New York and San Francisco ~ and traveled frequently throughout Europe, Asia and Africa (always taking his notebook & camera).

Always pushing for simplicity, craft and flawless execution, Scott Yanzy oversees Trope's creative operations and is responsible for spearheading the concept and design across all disciplines. Over the past 20 years, Scott has worked with countless Fortune 500 and global brands, serving as the Executive Creative Director and creative lead for many proven agencies including 15+ years within WPP and Publicis Groupe.

Our overseas supplier has this title on order.  You can place a backorder for this title now and we will ship it to you when it becomes available. 

While we are unable to provide a delivery estimate, most backorders will be delivered within 120 days. If we are informed by our supplier that the title is no longer available during this time, we will cancel and refund you for this item.  Likewise, if no delivery estimate has been provided within 120 days, we will contact our supplier for an update.  If there is still no delivery estimate we will then cancel the item and provided you with a refund.

If we are able to secure you a copy of the title, our supplier will send it to our Sydney warehouse.  Once received we make sure it is in perfect condition and then despatch it to you via the Australia Post eParcel service, which includes online tracking.  You will receive a shipping notice from us when this occurs.
