Virtual Geographies explores the possibilities and dangers brought by the revolution in communication technologies, outlining how these technologies are being used to produce new geographies and new types of space. The contributors reveal that new communication technologies open up whole new vistas. Leading contributors drawn from a wide range of disciplines including Geography, Sociology, English and Philosophy investigate how particular visions of cyberspace have been constructed and articulated through the influence of literature and gender, and how the experience of online interaction is expressed.
