This highly eye-catching range has been designed specially for young independent readers aged between 6 and 8. Perspectives combines a real emphasis on developing research skills with a visually stunning design that will encourage readers to look at curriculum topics in a different way. "Classifying Animals": This series examines the world of animal classification using an investigatory approach. Each title follows the animal through various life stages, and by investigating how the animal copes, the characteristics it displays, and comparing this to animals outside the group, the pupil can build on their knowledge towards a fuller understanding. It encourages pupils to take a more active role in their learning as the series uses an investigatory approach where readers learn to select important animal characteristics and collate them, and compares non-defining characteristics so readers learn to look for the key classification details.
