Exercise is really vital for everyone, but it's especially crucial for those of us over 65. Whether we like it or not, consistent exercise keeps our bodies moving and operating as they should as we age. Without moving about and engaging our muscles, we decrease our chances of aging healthfully.

For elderly people, chair exercises are a perfect replacement. The presence of a weight set, a trainer, or even a caretaker at all times is not required for elders. The only equipment a senior need is a chair, however some of the exercises below may need a resistance band or dumbbells to be done correctly and effectively.

Please remember that everyone has varying degrees of comfort with exercising. Starting slowly and creating a health plan that is specific to your capabilities is vital for your safety.
