Joanna is the oldest sister in her family but unfortunately the only one that is unmarried. Taking care of her elderly grandmother, she is persuaded to grant her a dying wish. Her grandmother wants her to become a mail order bride....Thinking she is senile, Joanna refuses her sisters and grandmother set her up with a man named Lorne from Colorado.

Upon arrival, Joanna finds him to be a man suffering from emotional wounds of the past. He seems resistant to her kindness but Joanna can feel his attraction to her, he just cannot express it. And the hurts from the past run a lot deeper than they both even realize.
