Just like the lioness in the wilderness, Dr. Kemi is a tall, dark, beautiful, courageous, and highly religious career-driven woman. She has experienced the two sides of a coin—one side was quite sweet, and the other utterly sour. From being in a very serious accident where she escaped death by a hair’s breadth, to being afflicted by a rare disease that affected her health significantly to the point she almost wished for death because of the excruciating pain she felt. Medical experts were puzzled—they couldn’t diagnose the disease.

Could this be a new disease? Is there any drug to treat it? the medical experts wondered.

But following miraculous events, the rare diagnosis was found to occur in three percent of Blacks. The illness itself and the surgery she had during its course also took her through a stressful physical and emotional journey—an enduring scar that would last for over a decade. She, however, always had the faith that her story would change someday.
