This, the fourth book of poems in the series, is the follow-up to Rosetta. John felt that as this is the aftermath of three books published, Aftermath as a title is self-explanatory. It comes from someone born in Ireland in 1947, exiled since 1967, John is now retired and writing full-time. There is no inherent logic to the placement of individual poems: they were, at the time of writing, responses to everyday situations, written there and then.
