Annie shares her grandmother's 'unusual abilities.' Grandma detests the word psychic and has spent her life downplaying her abilities. She encourages Annie to do the same. During the 1960s, living on a remote farm in Southern Africa, Annie forges friendships with wild animals and learns how to communicate with them: a banded cobra, serval cat, porcupines, goannas, and many others.
