Nancy Raines Day made a wish on pennies in a wishing well to become a writer, and 10 years later, her first picture book came out. She and her husband live on St. Simons Island in Georgia, where she thinks up ideas while walking on the beach and swimming in the ocean.

Michael Emberley attended the Rhode Island School of Design. He has been writing and illustrating award-winning books for children for more than thirty years.

His titles for Walker include Let's Talk and Let's Talk About Where Babies Come From – both written by Robie H. Harris. Michael lives in Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
