Aryn Taylor grew up alongside four siblings struggling to survive with parents whose ideals and personalities clashed with reality. At the start, the family fit well into their community and faith as their mother conjured a delicately crafted persona of piety and success at the expense of her children. The dysfunction only deepened with the few members of extended family brought into the fold.
