A short story 3000 words.
The winter of 1948 has Britain in it's grip. The railways couldn't move the fuel and food piling up at the docks to where it was needed.
The government is desperate to find a way to save the people from hypothermia and starvation. The economy is on it's knees there has to be a way out!
A number of things come together at the right time, in the right place with a leader with the vision necessary.
This, in a slightly steam punk manner and with a touch of humour, is the way the British were saved.
