"Gulliver's Travels" is author Jonathan Swift's masterpiece, a epic satire of politics, the human condition and the popular "travel books" that were in vogue at the time.
The book concerns the travels and adventures of its eponymous hero, Lemuel Gulliver, as he circumnavigates the globe and encounters numerous fascinating and fantastical lands and the people - and creatures - who live there. From Lilliput (small people) to Brobdingnag (giants) to Houyhnhnms (talking horses), Gulliver is at various times celebrated, attacked, hailed as a hero, convicted of treason, kept as a pet and imprisoned. Swift carefully lampoons everything from politics to religion and everything in between.
A publishing sensation when it first appeared in 1726, "Gulliver's Travels" has gone on to become known as one of the finest satirical novels ever written. The book has been adapted numerous times for the stage and screen and we are proud to present the novel in its original and unabridged format.
