He created stars. She became his universe.

Kezia Blair believes true talent shouldn’t need shortcuts. But after years of singing backup and recording anonymous jingles, her shot at a real music career is slipping away. When a last-ditch audition lands her on Starbound, TV’s biggest reality show, Kezia faces a painful choice: chase stardom on someone else’s terms—or walk away for good.

Zach Falconer created Starbound to launch fresh talent—not get tangled up with it. Burned by a fame-hungry ex, he’s determined to protect his show from scandal and his heart from pain.

But Kezia’s passion, honesty, and refusal to play the game shake his carefully controlled world. And the deeper their connection grows, the harder it becomes to protect the lines between love, loyalty, and career.

In an industry where image is everything, can they hold onto what matters most… or will success cost them the truth—and each other?

A soulful, slow-burn Christian romance about integrity, ambition, and the price of staying true.

Kezia's family have never accepted her singing career, and she's almost given up hoping they ever will. Worse, she's almost given up hoping to ever make it big herself - and an unexpected offer to audition for a new music reality TV show might be her last chance. Zach has everything on the line in making this reality TV show a success, so the last-minute addition of a singer who instantly gets under his skin is not what he needs. But something about her draws him to push her to be the best she can, taking her technical excellence and giving it heart. The world of reality TV is never simple, though, and they both have too much on the line to fail - or let a relationship get in the way...

This was too long to be read in a single sitting, but that's the only reason I didn't. As it was, this book has two very late nights to its credit, because I found it that hard to put down. Both Kezia and Zach drew me in from the word go, and their difficult path to love was amazing to watch. The reality TV side of it I could do without, except that it was such a necessary framework for the story - but characters like Brianna aren't my cup of tea. As for Ryan, well, I'd better not say what I thought of him! I particularly loved the way that Zach's family supported him through it all, including saying the difficult things when needed - and it was also nice to see a bit more of main characters from previous books (though you don't need to have read them to enjoy this). All in all, an inspiring, encouraging and entertaining read - I loved it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
