Penny Pound had been born and raised on Flat Back Road. It was a good name for the place, too, because most of the girls who lived there got down flat on their backs for some male when they were sixteen or seventeen, and stayed that way for the rest of their lives.

But Penny wanted a different future, wanted to better herself. So she set her sights on becoming an air hostess for Certified Airlines, and went to live in the big city.
