Have you ever wondered what life is like from the point of view of an animal? Most of us probably have at some time and there have been many great stories written from an animal's perspective. But Rats!

Rats have played a large part in the history of humankind and a lot of that is seen as negative - most of us live within a few metres of rats. Rats can make very good pets. And, of course we have used rats (and many other animals) in research. Whether or not you think that is a good thing, I wondered what it might look like from a rat’s point of view and set out to write a fun story about a group of rats who escape from a research centre and go on a quest to reach the countryside - a place they had only heard of from older rats.

This is the story of their adventures and how funny we sometimes look from another’s point of view.
