Ryan spirals out of control, having decided that being a good man is for idiots. Drugged and robbed in France, crossing sexual lines in the office, and playing games that could see him win or lose everything, he refuses to listen to friends who are concerned for his increasingly dangerous behaviours. His redemption comes from Brenda, who has lost the ability to be sly or dishonest, and this unlikely friend helps him find his way back to who he really is. While it often seems accepted that mentally challenged people may not make good partners for able-minded people, Ryan realises that he loves her.
