Sam grew up in Buckinghamshire, falling off various bicycles before reading books and making up his own stories about more competent heroes. After studying English at Cambridge University, he joined Usborne in 2013, and now writes titles ranging from fold-out solar systems to maze books full of swashbuckling pirates. Daron Parton, a graduate of the Central Saint Martin's School of Art, has worked on a range of exciting packaging, editorial and children's book illustration projects. His clients include The Wall Street Journal, the New Statesman, GQ, Esquire and Scholastic.

He was named the winner of the 2012 Australian Creative’s Hotshop Award for Illustrator of the Year, and was also Highly Commended in the 2013 Australian and New Zealand Illustration Awards. He is the illustrator of Zoo Train, written by Sally Sutton. Originally from the UK, Daron currently lives in New Zealand.
