"Space Platform" follows the efforts of scientists, engineers, and astronauts as they work to build and launch the first space platform—an orbiting space station that serves as a staging area for further space exploration and scientific research. The story revolves around the challenges, setbacks, and dangers faced by the characters involved in the project, as well as the political and international tensions surrounding the race for space.Murray Leinster's writing is characterized by its emphasis on scientific accuracy, technical detail, and plausible speculation about future technologies. "Space Platform" is likely to have entertained readers with its thrilling narrative, realistic portrayal of space exploration, and exploration of themes such as human ambition, cooperation, and the possibilities of space travel. While Leinster may not be as well-known today as some other science fiction authors of his time, "Space Platform" remains a classic of the genre and is considered an influential work in the depiction of space exploration in literature.

Murray Leinster (1896-1975) "Murray Leinster" was the pen name of William Fitzgerald Jenkins - an author whose career spanned the first six decades of the 20th Century. From mystery and adventure stories in the earliest years to science fiction in his later years, he worked steadily and at a highly professional level of craftsmanship longer than most writers of his generation. He won a Hugo Award in 1956 for his novella "Exploration Team," and in 1995 the Sidewise Award for Alternate History took its name from his classic story, "Sidewise in Time." His last original work appeared in 1967.
