A poignant collection of poetry, memoir, and translations exploring memory, loss, and identity.

In Spills, Angela Leighton reflects on her past, from her childhood in northern England and Italy to her relationship with her father, composer Kenneth Leighton. Through candid poems, she contemplates death and mortality, drawing from the Bible and Greek mythology. Leighton also translates the work of Sicilian poet Leonardo Sciascia, exploring themes of culture and identity.

This collection offers:

• Introspective poems on family, loss, and the passage of time

• A unique blend of personal memoir and artistic reflection

• Translations that capture the essence of Sicilian poetry

Spills is for readers who appreciate lyrical language, emotional depth, and the power of poetry to connect us to our past and to each other.
