Jess isn't impressed by his wealth, but each glimpse in the rear-view mirror has her aching to climb into the backseat and submit to Benjamin's every command. His recent takeover cost her job, and she knows she should steer clear — so why can't she get off the collision course leading right towards Benjamin?

After leaving her convent school, Miranda Lee briefly studied the cello before moving to Sydney, where she embraced the emerging world of computers.

Her career as a programmer ended after she married, had three daughters and bought a small acreage in a semi-rural community. She yearned to find a creative career from which she could earn money.

When her sister suggested writing romances, it seemed like a good idea. She could do it at home, and it might even be fun! She never looked back.

Taken Over By The Billionaire is the 25th romance by Australian author, Miranda Lee. Jess Murphy has just lost her part-time position at the local boutique because of a corporate take-over by an American firm. Luckily she can still work in her family’s Car Hire company as a mechanic and driver. When Benjamin De Silva rings needing a car and driver, his name and accent put Jess on alert: could this be the man responsible for her recent job loss?

A bit of internet research gives her the answer and she plans to use that knowledge on his trip to a winery wedding to challenge his company’s ruthless policies. But he’s not at all what Jess expected, and the attraction between them is immediate. She finds herself agreeing to things she would never normally consider.

Lee gives the reader a classic plot with a few modern touches: ultra-rich hero, hard-working heroine. Will their attraction be enough to overcome the enormous difference in their lifestyles? Jess is thankfully more feisty than breathless, Ben not too spoilt, but the foray into bondage does not sit well with this author’s usual style.
