On a crooked little street in a big, bustling city, Gus Honeybun bakes muffins no one forgets. He's a quiet man with a soft heart, a messy apron, and a judgmental cat named Nutmeg. His parents live off the grid in the Alaskan backwoods, and he runs Honeybun's Hearth Bakery with the kind of care that can only be taught by a kind old uncle and a lifetime of loneliness.

Clem Frost doesn't do love stories-or Christmas. A sarcastic food critic with a sharp pen and a guarded heart, she never expected to fall for a muffin, let alone the man who made it. But when her scathing review leads her back to the bakery-again and again-what begins as reluctant curiosity turns into quiet mornings, shared coffees, and something dangerously close to joy.

Neither of them wants to rush. Neither of them is ready. But when Gus blurts out a Christmas proposal he didn't mean to make, and half the town takes it seriously, they're swept into a holiday whirlwind of tinsel, vows, and one very opinionated matchmaker with a clipboard.
