These are not memories. These are notes from the floor.
From the cold linoleum of a kitchen at 3:00 a.m., a narrator inventories the damage. The only clock is a wet "plop" from the sink. The only map is the equation: the seventeen cracks in the wall, the pencil-line lie on the ceiling (29), and the rust stain on the counter (1).
The sum is 47. The sum must equal the 47 photographs in an orange shoebox from 2007.
This is the archive. It is the obsessive hunt for a ghost: the smell of Sun-Fresh blue laundry powder, a chemical promise of 2007 that no longer exists. But a new, purple, contaminating smell is seeping in, poisoning the numbers and breaking the equation.
This is not a story. This is the sound of a person eating cold food in the dark, trying to count their way back to a single, clean smell.
