Yet it happens so frequently in life to be disappointed in the face of events that seem absolutely unexpected: people who suddenly betray us, choices that suddenly turn out to be wrong, work situations that change from one day to the next apparently without warning.

The truth is that, even if we don't realize it, we are instinctively inclined to always ignore one side of the coin.

Many people are also like medals: they have two faces. And it often happens that we fail to see even the appearance of the hidden face, the secret one, the one they do not show to others. This is how we end up being victims: of romantic relationships, of bonds of friendship, of work relationships. But all this can be avoided. In fact, we can learn to look beyond, beyond the surface, and discover the hidden side of people. Their dark side.

Psychology also has two sides, just like a coin. There is official psychology, which we all know, and dark psychology: it is not a real science, we could rather define it as the set of notions that allow us to understand manipulation, persuasion, deception. All these behaviors have a solid psychological basis, that is, they can be framed, classified, understood. Deception is not a bolt from the blue that falls from heaven on us: there is a strategy behind it and it can be understood and analyzed.

Every day we are victims of someone's persuasion. Just think of all the advertising we are constantly targeting, through the media: those who sell always, constantly want to persuade us to take an action. To this are added the people around us, in the family and at work. Persuasion is not necessarily negative, you can persuade someone to take an action for a good purpose, so that they can benefit or benefit from it. When one enters the realm of manipulation, however, it becomes difficult to hold on to solid moral principles.

That's why this book is born. To help you shed light on people's secret side, on their darkness. To allow you to read people, guess their real intentions, unmask the manipulators and defend yourself from them in the unfortunate case you discover that you are a victim.
