Theo the Old Cat

Meet Theo — an old cat with young memories, sharp wit, and a lot to say about the humans in his life.

From his cozy windowsill perch, Theo has spent years watching his odd two-legged family grow, laugh, and make baffling choices — like hiding socks in loud machines or brushing their teeth with minty foam. To Theo, these humans are a curious mystery, but they are his mystery.

Everything changes when a new tiny human named Amani arrives. She's quiet, curious, and unlike the others, she truly sees Theo. Through their growing friendship, Theo begins to rediscover his playful past, reflect on what it means to grow older, and uncover the unexpected magic of connection.

Told with gentle humor and warmth, Theo the Old Cat is a story of friendship, family, and seeing life through someone else's eyes — even if that someone happens to be a wise old cat with a lot on his mind.

I picked up Theo the Old Cat thinking I’d skim a few pages and move on. Instead, I ended up snorting with laughter, bookmarking lines, and seriously questioning if this sarcastic old cat knows me personally.

Let’s be clear: I am a full-grown adult. This is a children’s book. And yet — I was fully invested in the daily diary of a grumpy senior cat who seems to have a PhD in sarcasm and a minor in judging humans.

Theo’s wit is sharp, his mood swings are hilarious, and his passive-aggressive inner monologue? Unmatched. Every page reminded me why I love cats — not in spite of their attitude, but because of it.

And the author? Brilliant. To give a cat this much personality without turning him into a cartoon is a skill. It’s clever, original, and full of little gems that made me laugh out loud and weirdly… reflect on life?

So yes — I laughed too hard for someone technically “above the target age group,” Where is part two??:)
