In the plethora of contemporary works in library classification the Theory of Library Classification is three-fold. First, from pedagogical point of view it presents a whole vista of library classification—the theory and principles of library classification from evolutionary perspective, which is extremely useful and helpful for understanding the works of the makers of modern classification. Second, the core contents of subject library classification have been presented systematically, coherently and lucidly, which would be extremely useful in understanding the spirit and essence of the theory of library classification. Third, it is undoubtedly the latest work which incorporates the most recent developments at the national and international foras on library classification.
