Exodus - leaving behind the bondage of Egypt and journeying to the promised land. In this book of the Bible, we find a God who remembers His people. He develops a leader to deliver the Israelites, and that is Moses. Moses has his own difficulties, but eventually is ready for the task. The Israelites, when finally set free, complain and consider Egypt to be better. Exodus is a book that highlights the frailty of humans and our inability to see the greater things He has in store for us. Instead of trusting, we often complain. However, where He is leading us is far greater than we can imagine. On the way, He prepares us by giving us instructions. For the Israelites, it was the Ten Commandments and other laws. He also wants to be with us, as He instructed the Israelites to build the Tabernacle. This devotional, the second in a larger series, will encourage you to put your trust in God, who is our great Deliverer. It will challenge you to be content instead of complaining. It will help you prepare yourself and equip you to make the pilgrimage to the promised land.
