The Israelites, when finally set free, complain and consider Egypt to be better. Exodus is a book that highlights the frailty of humans and our inability to see the greater things He has in store for us. Instead of trusting, we often complain. However, where He is leading us is far greater than we can imagine. On the way, He prepares us by giving us instructions. For the Israelites, it was the Ten Commandments and other laws. He also wants to be with us, as He instructed the Israelites to build the Tabernacle.
