Wealth and beauty does not matter to Arabella. Her only concern is to follow the Suit Society's rules. The first rule being she is obligated to marry one of them, no matter how cruel or kind he may be. When the date is set, she must make a choice to stay or find a way out. The real choice is whether she will make it out dead or alive.

Although running away could set her free, she must be careful. Runners get their feet cut off, after all. Her escape will find her blending in among the impoverished other half of society. There she will come to uncover the lies and corruption used to oppress the people at the hands of her family.

As she faces her fears and past trauma, she must not lose herself to who society wants her to be and discover her own voice.
