Since the early 1970s, Analivia Cordeiro (São Paulo, 1954) has been developing a continuous and intensive body of transdisciplinary work that explores the relationships between audiovisual art and media, body and movement, in some and time. She is considered a pioneer in video art and computer-based video dance, and she is one of the first artists in the world to program computer-based dance choreographies conceived specifically for the video camera. Equally significant has been her creation of a visual aesthetic that revolutionized the traditional languages of both ballet and dance-on-film. This book is the most complete compilation to date of Analivia Cordeiro's entire creative corpus, from the 1970s to 2022, and includes her major texts written in the years 1973 to 2018. This is complemented by introductory texts by Peter Weibel and Claudia Giannetti, along with historical and current texts on her artistic productions written by various authors. A selection of photo portraits of the artist by renowned Brazilian photographer Bob Wolfenson, dating from 1987 to 2020, rounds off the publication.
