Neil Armstrong's journey to the moon is the focus of the fifteenth picture book in the New York Times bestselling series of biographies about heroes.

This friendly, fun biography series focuses on the traits that made our heroes great--the traits that kids can aspire to in order to live heroically themselves. Each book tells the story of one of America's icons in a lively, conversational way that works well for the youngest nonfiction readers and that always includes the hero's childhood influences. At the back are an excellent timeline and photos. This volume tells the story of Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon.

Brad Meltzer is a name that is instantly synonymous with the term "creative visionary." Raised in Brooklyn and Miami, this graduate of the University of Michigan and Columbia Law School had received 24 rejection letters for his first novel, Brad Meltzer is the #1 New York Times best-selling author of The Book of Fate, as well as the bestsellers The Tenth Justice, Dead Even, The First Counsel, The Millionaires and The Zero Game.

He is also co-creator of the TV show Jack & Bobby -- and the author of the critically acclaimed comic book IDENTITY CRISIS and GREEN ARROW: THE ARCHER'S QUEST. He got 24 rejection letters for his true first novel, which still sits on his shelf -- published by Kinko's.

The first comic book Brad ever read was JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #150 (1978). He was seven years old. Needless to say, it changed his life. Brad currently lives in Florida with his wife and his comic book collection.
