Sophie Beer is a freelance illustrator and writer. She studied law at university but found that unutterably dull and now works primarily in children's and editorial illustration.

She is perpetually astounded that she has somehow hoodwinked people into paying her money to draw all day long. When she's not illustrating and writing, she thinks a lot about plants, animals, music and books. Sophie lives in Brisbane.

Contains Spoilers: Keep Reading?

We love all Sophie Beer books and so does our daughter. She’s fascinated by every little detail on the pages. I love seeing the LGBTQI+ representation and am happy that my daughter is able to see her own family in this book. It also pictures people or colour and all different abilities which are often left out in our other toddler books.
