You can't believe everything you hear, but you can believe everything you read, especially if it's inside this book about the world's most widely believed lies! For example: You do not need to wait thirty minutes after eating before you swim. Sugar does not make children hyper. Gum doesn't take seven years to digest if you swallow it. Ancient Greek sculptures were not painted white. Lightning can strike the same place twice. And that's just scratching the surface! Topics include history (Did George Washington really have wooden teeth?), wildlife (No, toads don't cause warts), science (Are meteors actually on fire when they reach the earth?), and more! Misconceptions is the trivia guide you can't do without. Believe us. Book jacket.
