My favourite artist, Oliver Jeffers is back with a fun, beautifully illustrated and quirky approach to the alphabet.
He takes each letter and creates a short story. 'A' is about an astronaut, 'C' is about a cup.
This selection of stories is perfect for picking up with your child for a few stories and with some quirky tales it is sure to amuse the big kid fans of Jeffers work.

Oliver Jeffers creates wonderful picture books, full of whimsy, quirky humour, and fabulous illustrations.

Once Upon An Alphabet is my new favourite Jeffers. With each letter being accompanied by a short story or rhyme, and all of them so wonderful, it is hard to choose which letter is my favourite. But I know I'd love to have some of them hanging on my wall.

Little kids, bigger kids, and kids at heart will all love this magical book. It would be a very special present for any, and I think fans of Shaun Tan would also love this one.

Oliver Jeffers has created some wonderful, quirky and whimsical picture books in the past, but I think Once Upon an Alphabet has to be my favourite ever.

Each letter gets a very brief story, or rhyme, or an enigma in the case of E (how many elephants fit inside an envelope? Turn to N for the answer!) that children of all ages (including the big ones, and those who are still a child at heart) will love.

I'm sure everyone in the family will have a different favourite letter. For me, I really like (apart from the E and N mentioned above) the letter K. You'll just have to read it to find out what happens to the King of France.
